We are currently seeking a main sponsor and partner sponsors to support the event, increase the funds raised for charity and to create publicity for the sponsors. We have some unavoidable costs, such as Ingliston, the facilities for the start and finish and some of the support required with the organisation and on the day support all being performed on a voluntary basis. We anticipate around 500 cyclists and can cover the event costs with the anticipated surplus being distributed to the charities but the introduction of a main sponsor will ensure all the entry fees go straight to Mercy Corps and Cash for Kids.
Cycling has grown significantly in popularity in the UK over the past decade and is followed by many millions. In addition to the following of the international events, a huge number now take part and get on their bikes at least once a week to cycle with friends or just to keep fit. Cyclists come from all walks of life with male, female, rich, poor, fit and unfit with no class legacy that affect some other sports. It is truly open to all and a fantastic and cost effective way for a sponsor to raise their profile.
